Contract with CEO Franz Julen prematurely extended by five years

The "Board of Management" of IIC - INTERSPORT International Corporation with headquarters in Bern, Switzerland has extended the contract with CEO Franz Julen (54) until the end of 2018, ahead of schedule.

 

According to IIC, this step emphasizes the many years of Franz Julen’s successful work and Klaus Jost, the President of IIC's Board of Management, ensures a high degree of continuity in the leadership of IIC.
 
Franz Julen, working at IIC - INTERSPORT International Corporation (IIC) since 1998 and as of 1. April 2000 as CEO, sets a rapid pace on the tennis court or when skiing, but also in daily business. Under Franz Julen’s leadership, IIC has prospered with regard to the co-operation with strategic brands, its exclusive brand offers, in the marketing and retail area as well as in other services. Today IIC is providing optimal support to the national INTERSPORT organizations. At an early stage, Julen campaigned for a strategic expansion policy. Through organic growth in existing core markets, expansion into Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia, INTERSPORT nearly doubled its retail sales in the last 14 years and realized 9.9 billion Euros in 2011. Recently granting licenses to China and Lebanon added the countries 41 and 42 on the INTERSPORT world map.
 
Klaus Jost, President of the IIC Board of Management and longtime business companion of Franz Julen, is looking forward
 
to continuing the successful business policy with the complete IIC management team also in the future, ensuring pro-active operations in the sporting goods retail market with creative and competitive strategies in a highly contested environment.
