Klaus Jost – New Chairman of IIC - INTERSPORT International Corporation. Jussi Mikkola – new Vice-Chairman

September 11, 2009

Paris – On the occasion of the Annual General Meeting of IIC - INTERSPORT International Corp. in Paris the IIC Supervisory Board unanimously elected Klaus Jost (CEO of INTERSPORT Germany) as Chairman. He is following in the footsteps of John Forzani (62, Chairman of The Forzani Group Ltd., Canada), who decisively influenced and shaped the IIC success story in this position over the last six years ...

Klaus Jost (48) became a member of the IIC Supervisory Board in 2002. In his function as Vice-Chairman he influenced the strategic goals and actively pushed ahead the dynamic expansion.

Franz Julen, IIC CEO for many years, was very pleased with the election outcome and emphasised that next to managerial qualities, mainly intercultural leadership skills for a respectful and target-oriented contact with the national licensees were required. "With Klaus Jost a man has been elected who is assuming his various responsibilities very precisely and thoroughly. He is prepared to work hard at any time to reach a long-term, sustainable result and is not looking for quick wins and fast compromises" states Franz Julen.

Jussi Mikkola (Finland) was nominated new Vice-Chairman. He has also been a long-term member of the decision-making team in IIC's success story. Besides Marco Giunta (Italy) who was elected to join the IIC Supervisory Board in 2008, two new members were elected to complete the competence team: François Bariaud (France) and Mikael Kold (Denmark).

In taking office, Klaus Jost expressed his sincere thanks to John Forzani for his very successful work over the many years. He is looking forward to a continuing co-operation with the Chairman of the Forzani Group.

It is a great honour and at the same time a challenge for me, together with the outstanding Management Team of IIC in Bern, to bundle and represent the various interests of the world's largest sporting goods retail organisation. Besides all expansion plans, we will continue to put focus on a sustainable profitability of our shops and an authentic and credible company policy

states the new Chairman Klaus Jost.
