This agreement is the consequent implementation of the defined expansion strategy, which gives the Azzam family the rights to open INTERSPORT stores, sell INTERSPORT’s exclusive branded products in the territory and to have access to all other IIC products and services.
The Azzam family is operating in the multi-sports retail business since 1992, being present in Cairo and Alexandria, selling for various brands such as Adidas, Nike, Reebok, Sketchers, Puma, O‘Neil, Wilson etc.
Currently, the company owns a total of 12 smaller stores, which will all be turned into INTERSPORT stores in the course of the next year. Furthermore they will open 5 new stores in the size range from 500 sqm to 1.000 sqm in the years to come.
Mahmoud Azzam states: “We are excited about the current and new opening of stores and are confident that the launch of the INTERSPORT brand will change the outlook for sporting goods retailing in the Egyptian market.”
