27.04.2007 | INTERSPORT will again be a sponsor of the UEFA Cup Final 2007, taking place on 16th May 2007 at Hampden Park in Glasgow, Scotland.
The venue hosting this season’s UEFA Cup final bears little resemblance to the original Hampden Park, which started life in 1873 and is now the site of a bowls club. A second Hampden swiftly followed before the third – and current – edition was constructed just over a century ago. The arena has enjoyed a rich history, and is now a top-class European stadium with facilities to match any major venue in the world.
It is the first time that Glasgow has hosted a UEFA Cup final although the city has already staged five European finals, most famously the 1960 European Champion Clubs’ final when Real Madrid CF defeated FC Eintracht Frankfurt 7-3 in front of a record 121,261 crowd at Hampden.
Now it's definite, there will be an all Spanish final played in Glasgow on the 16th May 2007!
After Sevilla won their away game against Osasuna with 1:2, Espanyol, the last Spanish team to
qualify for the final, took its chance and beat Bremen 5:1!
