In each country there are hundreds of races taking place. They cover distances from 5K to 10K, from half-marathons up to full marathon distances.

Marathon

Starting with the ultimate distance, the world's top ten - probably most spectacular - marathons are:

Month Where?
April London Marathon, Boston Marathon, Paris Marathon and Rotterdam Marathon
June Stockholm Marathon
September Berlin Marathon
October Chicago Marathon and Amsterdam  Marathon
November New York City Marathon
December Honolulu Marathon

5K up to half-marathon

For the "standard" distance, we recommend you to get in contact with your local running club as they have the most detailed information on all the races taking place within your region or your country.

Running for Charity

Another way of approaching a race is the urge to not only run for yourself, but to help others with your efforts.

Charities are using more and more sporting events - in particular runs - as valuable sources of fund raising income. As the competition between charities is increasing, runners are offered a whole host of ways to get involved.

If you want to head for a absolutely rewarding experience, deciding to run a race for charity might just be it. Even with the weeks of gruelling training that lies ahead, you are guaranteed to get a lot more out of your training and race than you need to put in! Not only will the sense of achievement at training for and completing your race be amazing, but the fact that your efforts will help a worthy cause too is a truly rewarding feeling.
